Our coalition has grown to include
Highland Falls–Fort Montgomery,
Haldane, Garrison, Lakeland, Brewster,
Hendrick Hudson, Croton-Harmon, and
Ossining. These districts total about
125,000 population, 20,000 students, and
around $500 million in school spending.
READ works directly with media, local legislators,
New York State School Boards and the Westchester-Putnam School Boards Association. READ has presented to the Governor's panel on unfunded mandates. The 'READ Files' pages summarize our past activities, including our survey of the cost of unfunded mandates, across nine Westchester and Putnam school districts.
